The breathtaking design of the CWK convention and exhibition centre near Rzeszow in South East Poland has, in part, been made possible by the skills and expertise of the engineers at Barnshaws Polska. The curved sections of the tubular steel structure have been created at the new Polish Engineering facility that has been set up to service steel fabricators and construction companies across Europe.

Following the recent opening of Barnshaws’ Polish facility, the company has been quick to secure substantial orders for rolled steel products and the extended customer list is growing rapidly. One of the latest projects involved creating the skeleton frame for a new Polish tram design and manufacturing the components to meet the tight build schedule.

Since 2009 spectators on Wimbledon’s Centre Court have been able to enjoy the spectacle of world class tennis come rain or shine, thanks to the remarkable engineering involved in the 1,000 tonne roof above them. Creating roof trusses capable of supporting this enormous load was the responsibility of Barnshaws Metal Bending, a supplier which is now delivering more steel for iconic roof structures in the UK and abroad.

In a step aimed at tackling the surging demand for housing in the capital, developers in London are currently rejuvenating a number of sites including the Royal Victoria Dock in Newham, where two towers are being built which will comprise up to 24 levels of luxury residential flats. The wave-like design of these striking towers at Tidal Basin Road will require some complex tubular hand-railing for the balcony of every apartment and this task has been taken on by the experts at Barnshaws Metal Bending.
