Incorporating curved members in structures adds value and flare
It has been possible and practical, especially since the mid 1980s, to curve structural sections to form arches and curved elements for steel structures. This has given Architects and Consulting Engineers greater freedom to design buildings that are both functional and attractive.

At 115 meters tall, the ArcelorMittal Orbit is set to be one of the tallest sculptures in Britain, and a lasting tribute to the 2012 London Olympics. Visitors will have the opportunity to climb the continuous looping lattice of tubular steel via its long spiraling walkway, bent by Barnshaw Steel Bending Hamilton.

The distinctive ‘Pringle’ shaped velodrome was the first venue for the games to be completed. The structure has been award winning and widely praised for it’s architectural design and engineering. It was completed on time and too budget.
